January truly is the best month for reading.
The majority of TV shows are still on winter hiatus (though slowly coming back yay!) and it is dark outside early so it feels natural to be a shut in (joking, kind of).
In all seriousness though, I love to read this time of year and One Day In December by Josie Silver is a thoroughly enjoyable read that I finished in approximately three days. I loved this book, because even though it is pretty clear from the start how this book is going to end, you get to go on a journey that is at times unpredictable and even a little bit heartbreaking, and alas so is real life.
I firmly believe that we are all exactly where we are suppose to be, and though our journey’s may not be a straight line we are always on course. This novel shares the story of two best friends and how their lives twist and turn until they both end up exactly where they were meant to be. It was a delightful ride and a great book to kick off the new year.
This is a story with a happy ending, and I for one was sad to see it end.
