Between daylights savings time and the unexpected mid afternoon blizzard I had the pleasure of driving through yesterday, this week has already been a doozy!
With work commitments, fitness and eating goals, social activities, general adulting (you know the errands and laundry that literally NEVER END) and dog mom duties, I am feeling a bit stretched thin at the moment. Life is full of ups and downs, and this week just happens to be busy one!
When I find myself in need of a little boost of self-confidence, and a general reminder of “girl, you got this!” I turn to these two trusty jams:
- “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips
- “That’s the Way it is” by Celine Dion
These songs are cheesy and one could argue clichéd and they are also exactly what I need to boost up my energy when I am feeling defeated or drained. Wilson Phillips reminds me that this too shall pass and I am in control of my own destiny. If today wasn’t the best day, it is ok because I will persevere in the long run. So yes, even if the song does feel a little cheesy it’s a good reminder for all of us. You also can’t have a power playlist without Celine and “That’s the Way it is” is one of her best pump up ballads ever! It is another great reminder to never give up!
Also, never forget that we are all trying to figure out this journey called life together, and you are never alone on this voyage. Remember to be kind to everyone you meet, offer support when you can, and graciously accept support when it is offered to you. That is how we all thrive!
