There is a beautiful courtyard with a fountain at the 4th Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue and it is the most delightful oasis on such a bustling street.
When walking past yesterday I noticed the bright yellow of the fallen leaves and the beauty of the ornate lights shining through the windows. The setting filled me with peace and so I stopped for a moment to savor that feeling of solace. There is so much going on in our country right now that fills me with unease, and yet I know, above all else, the one thing we must never give in to is fear.
Thus, it is more important than ever to keep advocating for what is good (and sane). We cannot allow ourselves to be worn down, and must do everything in our power to ensure we remain strong. that is why finding moments of peace to recharge are more important than ever. For me, nothing boosts my energy quite like a moment of true peace and calm, just like the moment I had yesterday.
And so, my wish for all of you is that you too have the opportunity to enjoy a true moment of peace in this coming week and in every week hereafter!
