I spent the long weekend in LA and finally (finally!!) had the opportunity to visit a Le Labo brick and mortar location. Now I have seen Le Labo counters in Nordstrom and Barney’s before, and while they are a true delight, to actually be in the Le Labo Lab, takes the experience to a whole new level. It’s hard not to fall in love with the whole aesthetic of the space.
I have long been a fan of the premise behind Le Labo, as bespoke perfumes are a language in which I am obsessed with dabbling. Le Labo is the master of its limited (only 15 scents) and masterfully curated blends. The name of each perfume let’s you know the most prominent scent in each perfume and the number after the name tells the number of different notes in that perfume.
Now for the Le Labo experience: once you have decided upon the scent of your choosing, the perfume blends are hand mixed in front of you, as pictured above. You also have the opportunity at this time to personalize your label, and all labels include the date and location of creation. Another added bonus to the Le Labo experience, when you find a scent you truly love, you can bring back empty bottles for discounted refills.
I love that all of the scents are cruelty-free. Some definitely lean more feminine or masculine but all are marketed as unisex which is awesome. Le Labo also has a full range of beauty products and candles; yes candles!
Will my candle obsession ever stop? Probably not.
