My new favorite lunch spot to go is the Wells Street Market in Chicago (you can also dine in, but sometimes it is so nice to be able to pick up something quick and delicious and be on your way!). The Market boasts nine restaurants, one bar and a flower shop.
I love food halls/markets because they always offer a variety of choices and you aren’t committed to one genre of food, you can pick up items from several different shops. Wells Street Market is a personal favorite because it offers a variety of healthy and not so healthy options (see the donut shop below). My current favorite restaurant in the market is Chow Bros, which specializes in pierogis. Pierogis might possibly be my favorite fall food item. At Chow Bros they update the classics to create new and unique combinations and I have yet to try a flavor combo I didn’t love.
We are just entering the busiest time of year and I for one am all about embracing anything that makes life easier during these hectic times. Being able to pick up a quick and satisfying lunch to go, definitely qualifies as something that makes life easier. So this week a trip to the market was just what I needed!
