When I decided I wanted to write a post on incense, it felt only right to conduct a little historical research. My favorite tidbit of information comes from Ancient Egypt, where incense were used not only to cover up bad smells, but also to appease Gods and scare away malevolent spirits. It may be a couple of thousand years later, but I love incense for the exact same reasons, especially the part about scaring away bad entities 🙂 .
A happy home always smells pleasant, and the wonderful thing about incense is that they leave a gentle but amiable aroma long after they have burned down. I love to light some in the late afternoon/early evening and then enjoy their subtle scent for the rest of the evening. Incense, like essential oils, can be used as a tool to enhance wellbeing. One of my favorite scents is Satya Stress Relief, and the fragrance really does promote a calmer more relaxed environment.
