Music is the universal language that connects all of us. As humans we are innately capable of connecting to a beautiful harmony or great beat, even when we can’t understand the verbal language of the lyrics that accompany the song. Music has the power to draw people together from all different walks of life and create an immediate bond.
Music also has a profound way of lodging itself into memories. I cannot recall what I ate for lunch yesterday, but you better believe I can still recall every word to every Disney song ever written. Songs can also act as your own personal time machine, immediately transporting you to a time, place, and feeling. In my own life I love to use music as a supplement to every day life. The right song can completely turn around a bad day, or make a good day a great day. I have songs that always make me feel better: Bad Day by Daniel Powter and other songs that instantly make me feel excited and happy to be alive: see anything by Pitbull haha. On this Friday I will be dancing my way into the weekend listening to this Mika song: Love Today. It may be an oldie, but is a goodie for sure and the feelings of happiness it manifests are contagious!
Music has the power to uplift and heal, so today listen to a song that fills you and your home with light!
Mika! Thanks for reminding me how much I used to like his music…. Grace Kelly also good!
