I love living in a city, however; one of the realities of city living is that closet and storage space will always be at a premium.
Even though I air dry most of my clothes I long ago gave up my drying rack because I didn’t have the space to store it when not in use and hated the eye sore. As a result on laundry day every single chair and flat surface in my condo is covered with clothes. I’ve never really liked this as a solution. Enter the Fol-D-Rak I found this gem of a product at the Container Store and realized it is the solution to not only my clothes drying problem but also many problems I had long ago given up addressing. To say I am excited is an understatement. How has the Fol-D-Rak (ps. it’s made in America!) changed my life… let me count they ways!
Solution One: To dry clothes. Put clothes on hanger, space appropriately and Ta Da you are set!
Solution Two: Temporary coat rack for parties (because my coat closet is already overflowing with my own jackets). This is always a problem during winter (and spring and fall) entertaining and I am thrilled that my guest bed will no longer have to serve as the coat pile.
Solution Three: Capsule wardrobe, if I want to make this a more permanent addition to my life I can set up this rack in my bedroom and pull the pieces I wear most regularly to have easier access to my most used goods.
Solution Four: Packing, I have a dog who likes to nest. Laying out outfits for packing on my bed is a near impossibility. This is going to make pulling outfits a total breeze, just remove from closet and move onto the rack where I can see everything clearly. Then once all the clothing decisions have been made I can fold clothes and put them directly into my suitcase.
The best part about this garment rack is that, as shown in the picture above, when not in use the rack folds up to almost nothing and can easily be stashed under a bed, or couch, or even a small closet.
An efficient home is a happy home!
