Let’s all be honest with ourselves. Every January we vow to exercise more and eat healthier. We tell ourselves that this is going to be the year we totally turn it all around and actually develop a love for raw vegan food that will sustain us for the rest of our lives. It all sounds wonderful it truly does, but I am a realist and realize that chances are very slim this the year I suddenly develop a craving for pea protein smoothies (yuck). That being said, since I am all for giving it your best shot, today’s post is dedicated to a realistic approach to improving our and fitness and health in 2018. No drastic lifestyle changes here, just some small improvements to help us reach our goals.
- Workout DVD’s – Or any fitness routine you can complete in the comfort of your home. May that be a bbg workout, or some other fitness app. When it is -20 degrees out, the chances of me leaving my home to head to the gym are also approximately -20. Having a workout I can complete in the comfort of my home makes it harder to come up with an excuse to not exercise.
- Awesome Water Bottle – This bottle is the best because it keeps your water super cold. Also, I personally love the 25-ounce size which requires less trips to the water station during particularly grueling workouts.
- Cute Clothes – Athleisure is a trend that I hope NEVER goes out of style. The best part about cute workout clothes is that they are comfortable for lounging at home, perfect for during your workout, and you can then comfortably wear them about town running errands (or getting brunch). Less outfit changes = greater happiness.
- Comfy Shoes – I am a total convert to comfy shoes (stiletto’s no thank you), and love that sneakers have become a totally acceptable shoe to wear out and about. When my feet are comfortable I am much more likely to walk to my destination than drive or take public transport. We all know walking is good for your health, so therefore comfy (and stylish) sneakers are very good for your health.
New Year, new healthy habits, let’s do it!
