I love love love this quote for so many reasons.
For starters this quote was written by a British female novelist in the 1800’s who had to use a male pseudonym in order to get her work published and be taken seriously. At the time it was believed that women could only write harlequin romance novels (insert eye roll). Ladies, never forget how far we have come, and let our foremothers be our inspiration to continue to fight to get us to where we need to be!
Mary Ann’s message, is a direct reminder that change and growth can be achieved at any age. True dreams and desires never fade away, so don’t ever think that you are too old to make the changes necessary to become the person you truly wish to be. Enroll in that program; go for that job in a new field, move across the country, heck move across the world. Nothing in life is ever set in stone. Our free will and our ability to make choices and change our minds is all part of the beauty of life. Take advantage of this freedom and transform yourself into the exact person you are meant to be (even if it does take a couple of attempts and a maybe even a couple of tweaks here and there). Growth is always possible.
