Is anyone else feeling super sleepy this week? The cooler temperatures and shortening sunlight hours are a definite reminder that Autumn is right around the corner, and with that change in season comes my body’s innate desire to hibernate.
However, rather than take a 6 month long nap, I try and come up with ways to combat my body’s yearning to slow down and sleep 12 plus hours a night (though slowing down and resting up is very important, spending more than half the day in bed is not the greatest).
My plan for this Autumn: Seize the Day. Every day I am going to wake up with the intention of making the most out of my day. For now that means taking lots of nice walks and enjoying the delightfully cooler temperatures. As things cool down further I know I will be spending a lot more time at home, so that’s when I plan to tackle some fun home projects (and some not as fun organizational projects that just need to be dealt with). Most people practice Spring cleaning, but I find a good Fall cleaning is always valuable.
This is also a great time of year to sign up for a new class, there are a few textile classes I have my eye on at the Lillstreet Art Center (Chicago people, I highly recommend their classes, they offer so many different options). Fall is also my favorite time to travel, so there is definitely a trip or two in the works! Most importantly, I am excited to slow down and get to spend more quality time with friends and family. There is nothing better than seizing the day with people you love.
What are your plans to make the most of the time ahead?
