I finished a pretty fun novel over the weekend: Party Girls Die in Pearls by Plum Sykes.
This book was the ultimate beach read. It involved murder by champagne saucer, a whole slew of interesting characters and two unlikely super sleuths. The story itself takes place in the 80’s within hallowed walls of Oxford University. So yes, there are plenty of Earls and Dukes thrown in the mix. And don’t you worry you will most certainly be regaled with 80’s fashion in all of its best (and most) ridiculous glory!
Some books you read to learn something new and expand your horizons, others you read for pure entertainment value. Party Girls Die in Pearls is pure fun and escapism. This book would best be enjoyed while relaxing on a giant rosé bottle raft like the one pictured above. But really, can enjoy this novel wherever your summer takes you, even if you are currently landlocked with no beach or water in sight!
