When you live in the Midwest and the temperature is in the high 50’s to low 60’s in DECEMBER there is only one option: spend as much time outside as humanly possible.
That is exactly what I did this past weekend, and I am pretty sure I broke some records on my pedometer as a result. It was such a treat to be able to leisurely walk around the city and actually take in all the decorations and beauty of the season. It was also so easy (and enjoyable!) to take pictures, as there were no gloves to fumble with, or giant scarves and hoods protecting my face yet obstructing my view.
I do not have a yard, and seriously hope I never do (yards are soooo much work), however I do truly appreciate all of the time and care others put into their outdoor decorations this time of year. I will gladly stop and stare at your yard any time. I just love how even though the sun sets early all of the outdoor lights and decorations make everything feel festive and fun and bright.
It truly is the most wonderful time!
