I was walking through the Streeterville neighborhood in Chicago the other day and I stumbled upon the CUTEST flower shop: City Scents.
In addition to displays of beautiful fresh flowers throughout the store (pictured above) they also have a great display of faux flowers and gift items (pictured below). At the back of the store the flower arranging table was completely open (I wish I would have gotten a picture) so you could watch the florist put together bouquets.
The flowers they had were so beautiful, and you could just tell it is a business that truly takes care in their designs and artistry. It seriously made me feel guilty that the majority of my flowers are purchased at Whole Foods.
I love small local shops and think we all should all do our part to support these small and highly specialized businesses. I walked out with a bundle of pussy willow branches (because they are my absolute favorite!!) and the florist gave me tips for drying the branches so I can enjoy them indefinitely… yes please!
If you find yourself in the area, check out this floral gem! You won’t be disappointed!
