I was reading through my How to Hygge book, as one does on a fine winter’s eve. When I came across this picture and quote.
I had just finished reading the section about Scandinavians’ love of nudity, which is a real thing by the way. Scandinavians love to get naked and the only rule about getting naked is that no one can make a big deal about it. Being nude is totally natural, and it would be strange to make a big deal about anything natural. But anyway I digress…
I was reading my book and came across this quote which I love. It is such a good reminder to all of us to make the most out of every season. Now that the polar vortex is over I am once again making an effort to go for walks outside. The crisp air seriously rejuvenates me, and I find myself so much calmer and at peace on the evenings of days where I manage to work in an outdoor walk (the treadmill so does not cut it). I love to walk outside, and just because it isn’t 70 degrees and sunny it doesn’t mean I need to wait until summer to resume my practice. Maybe you have another outdoor activity you enjoy, now is the perfect time to take up skiing or snow shoeing for example. In fact embracing winter sports is a good way to get you excited about each winter, where you get to the things weather doesn’t permit in the warmer months! It truly doesn’t matter what you do, the important thing is that you get outside and seize the day… whatever the temperature might be!**
