Farmhouse chic is definitely still having its moment in the world of home decor. We should probably thank Chip and Joanna Gaines for its longevity.
As a city dweller residing in a high rise, it isn’t exactly a style I see myself adapting in the near future, though I certainly do appreciate its charms. When done right, farmhouse chic manages to look pulled together yet also comfortable. It is a perfect blend of style and practicality. Which is actually a balance we should all strive to achieve in our homes regardless of our personal style.
I love the styling of the farm chic fireplace pictured above. The rustic mantle adds just the right touch of shabby chic, and the serene barn painting adds a feeling of serenity to the space. The gold rimmed hurricanes with mini faux green plants that bookend the painting, prevent the mantle from feeling too “country.” Just the right amount of country charm with a hint of polish!
