Welp, it is certainly a snowy and wintery day in the Midwest. East Coast readers, pretty sure this snow is headed your way, so get ready!
If you do have to leave the house today (something I plan on avoiding at all costs) you definitely needs these boots. I used to wear Sorels when I was growing up and then at a certain point abandoned them for Uggs which were soo much cooler but also might have the worst traction of any winter boots ever made. I saw the Sorel Whitney™ boots in an email from Athleta back in November and was immediately intrigued and added them to my Christmas list. My thought was that they were the perfect sneaker boot hybrid and would be great for running errands and winter dog walks. Truth be told these boots were better than I ever could have imagined and I now live in them.
These boots have the arch support and comfort of your favorite sneaker and the best part is that they don’t have that annoying rough yet kind of sharp piece that rubs the back of your ankles and makes them bleed (why do so many snow boots have that weird piece??). This pair of Sorel’s is rated to keep your feet warm in temps as cold as -25 Fahrenheit, and I can say when the temps dropped below zero back in December I was pleasantly shocked that they really do live up to their promise. They are the only boots I have found that actually keep my feet toes toasty.
For the days when it eventually warms up to the 30s and 40s the Sorel Cozy™ Carnival (pictured on the right) is a great option. The Cozy™ has all of the comfort of the Whitney boot but it is not quite as insulated so they are perfect for slightly warmer winter days. Both pairs of boots are waterproof and have awesome traction (something those Uggs never managed to achieve). Treat your toys and swath them in Sorel.
This is not an ad, just a product I love and I think everyone who lives in a cold weather climate needs to know about them!!
