Here at Moonflower Musings we are all about maximizing the utility of our homes, and today I am going to discuss easy ways to workout at home, no gym required.
On those days when going to the gym sounds completely unappealing (most days for me…) there are still some easy and convenient exercises you can do in the privacy of your own home. The best part all of the equipment pictured above is not only easy to use but also easy to store! (Storage space is always at a premium!)
Working out at home is hardly a new fad, I have been hooked ever since sophomore year of college, when my roommates and I were obsessed with the Barbie Workout VHS (huge shoutout to Walsh 605!). The video is truly the greatest gem to come out of 1992, and perhaps Jennifer Love Hewitt’s finest work. The workout itself is fairly easy (though we thought it was pretty intense at the time). From the looks of the color palette of my current at home workout accessories, pictured above and below, maybe I never truly got over my infatuation with that video. Barbie colors are just the best, what can I say?
My absolute favorite at home workout accessories are the Synergee Sliders pictured above. If you order from amazon, hey come with a guide of low impact exercises that really increase muscle strength. The best part, is that you can do all the exercises while watching TV! You can also use these sliders on either hard surfaces or carpeting which is an added bonus. The Belus Bands pictured above are another super versatile tool to use at home and once again the set available on Amazon comes with a whole book of exercises to give you some guidance. I really like using them when doing squats and bridges, the bands really help ensure your form stays on point and reduce your risk of injury. The lightweights are great for Barre style arm workouts, this is my favorite workout here, and you don’t need heavy weights at all to see major definition right away. Lastly, the yoga mat might not be used for much yoga, but I do use it to complete ab exercises, and to complete my color profile.
While it is always great to get out and take a walk (my favorite form of exercise if I am being honest), any of the accessories mentioned above are an inexpensive and uncomplicated way to boost your fitness in the comfort of your home!
