Rooftop season is upon us… which means it is time to up our outdoor decorating game. For those with large outdoor spaces such as backyard patios or rooftops, you really are in luck. Large outdoor spaces leave plenty of room for an assortment of outdoor furniture (large table for eating and separate section for lounging…it must be nice). For my city dwelling readers you probably share the same gratitude I have for having a balcony even if it is not the most spacious (sometimes you just want to be outside but still have some semblance of privacy). When decorating for small balcony spaces I have one piece of advice. Decorate for how you will realistically use the space, not how you feel a balcony should look. If don’t actually plan to eat outside but love to layout in the sun, skip the dining table and chairs and invest in a nice lounger. As with any “bonus” area make the most of it, and create the space that makes the most sense for your life.
There are tons of super cute outdoor accessories available that don’t take up a lot of physical space: garden stools are wonderful when used as a side table or plant stand, and a great outdoor throw pillow is another opportunity to majorly increase the style factor of any outdoor chair or sofa. Just like your interior décor, your outdoor space is another chance to display your personal style.
